For Lurking Out Loud!

As you probably already know, given the virtual hum out there, today is the day Bonnie has organized for Love Our Lurkers Day — a way of appreciating the readers of spanking blogs and giving you, the reader a hearty invitation to comment and participate.

I’m always moved by comments to my blog (well, except for the spam ones). I do read all of them and genuinely take your thoughts to heart.  It’s one reason (aside from my general flakiness) that can sometimes take a while to respond. It still amazes me that the random thoughts in my head can generate response from others.

Anyway, welcome.

Oh and so you have something to write about, what’s your favorite song right now or of all time?  Mine is “Birdhouse in Your Soul” by They Might Be Giants.  Tell us and this way I can make an el tercer ojo Lurker Playlist.  Besides, as Paul (who is too cool to be interested in his lurkers so don’t pay attention to him) is always telling me, my musical tastes are way too stuck in the 1980s. I’d love to have some cool new tunes to listen to.

PS. Did I say welcome? To friends old and new, I’m so happy to see you here.

Happy LOL Day, Mija, and thanks a lot for many, many thought-provoking posts! 🙂 It was lovely to finally meet you in person, and I hope to meet you and Paul again any time soon.
As favourite songs go: A newer favourite song of mine is “Curse My Name” of the German heavy metal band Blind Guardian. Good for releasing some aggressions, but still very melodic. Of course I’m aware that heavy metal isn’t for everyone, though… 😉

Happy LOL day. I’m a regular reader to your blog and try to comment although sometimes I lurk too. I really love your posts though and can relate to a lot of your feelings about spankings and such. 🙂
I hope you will be blogging for years to come!

    Hi Mija,
I’m a regular visitor to your blog, and always enjoy your posts. Thanks for being a part of LOL 6.
My favourite song is “The Highwayman” sung by Loreena McKennett.

I love your blog, always have. Of course, I’m not really a lurker, either…(by the way, Paul’s post made me LOL for real)
Favorite song? “Girl from ipanema ” by Gabrielle Anders.

Hi, Mija! I’ve commented before but wishing you a happy LOL Day! You’ve been an influence for many years and thanks for being out here on the internet even before there was blogging going on. Finding you early on helped me be okay with my kink! 🙂

Well, now that REM have broken up, I’ll have to leave the 80s, too. If I must, I kind of like the Robert Plant/ Alison Kraus album “Raising Sand.” No favorite song, though.
When I first found your writing, I was so glad to have found someone in this strange, new community with whom I knew I’d enjoy talking over coffee or a meal. It’s lovely that experience has proven me right, and I only wish I had the pleasure more often.

Hi, Mija. What a fun question for LOL day! TMBG takes me back to my summer camp days, when we listened to their CDs all summer. You may enjoy this recent video of them doing “Tubthumping” at the Onion’s AV Club studio:,53068/
I’ve been playing “If You Ever Come Back” by The Script a lot lately, so for something newish that would probably be my choice.
For an oldie but goody, I’d have to say “Summer Highland Falls” by Billy Joel.
Happy LOL Day, Mija. It’s been a pleasure getting to know you!

Happy LOL Day! We’ve been reading a long time, but don’t comment nearly often enough. A lovely blog that we very much enjoy though.

Not a lurker. I comment here more than anywhere! Also, I have an entire PLAYLIST of favorite songs, so that’s not going to be helpful – especially since so many of them are from the 1980s and 1990s too!
    Anyway, here’s a couple…
Painted Desert Serenade by Joshua Kadison (90s…)
    F**kin’ Perfect by Pink
    Shine by Collective Soul
If asked, the princess would tell you that her favorite is Dynamite! by Taio Cruz (2010)
I also confess to an affection for Born This Way by Gaga. But only when the girl is singing it. *grin*

Favourite song – impossible. Currently listening mostly to trance mixes while coding, so couldn’t even tell you what is mostly in my head. (Although I guess speaking of electronic classics, Voodoo People by the Prodigy always gets me bouncing on the dancefloor. There! I named one! Not my favourite song though; I rate Pendulum far higher than the Prodigy these days and that sort of dance music isn’t actually my favourite genre; I’m more of a hippy/folk dance music person.)
    Enough disclaimers!
I love your blog, I love how much you posted last month, I love your politics and I love your fiction. Please keep writing!

    Hey, Mija.
I think this is my first comment on your blog, but I read regularly. It’s my phone and TypePad that I blame. They keep eating my comments!
Oh, one of my favorite songs is Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd.
    Be well,

    Hi Mija,
You were one of the very first to welcome me years and years ago on the old S.S.S newsgroup. I’m mostly content to just lurk in the shadows, but I do love your blog and stop by often.
My favorite song is Everybody Got Their Something by Nikka Costa; it was my anthem while I plowed my way through grad school – something I know you understand all too well.
